KGAL-Whessoe partnership brings more success
Whessoe has been appointed by McConnell Dowell, an Australian main civil contractor with an established Philippines Division, to design and build gates and screens for a new hydropower station being added to the Maris Dam in the Province of Isabela, located on the island of Luzon in the northern Philippines. In partnership with Whessoe, KGAL will be designing all the gates and screens for the hydro intake, draft tube canal outlets, flushing culvert and revised irrigation outlets.
This is the second project for the partnership, following on from the much larger Xayaburi scheme in Laos.
Regional MD, Dave Griffiths, and Project Lead, Brent Imisson, recently returned from technical and commercial discussions in Manila with the ultimate client and end-user, S N Aboitz, and their engineering consultant, Stucky.
Whessoe will manufacture all the gates at their Makati works in Limay, across the bay from Manila.
